W. Paul Hovey, Class of 1985, is currently living and working in Birmingham teaching and coaching football and basketball at Oak Mountain Middle School. He and his wife have four children.
Jeremy Paul Bradford attended LWMA from 1993-1995. He now lives in Holly Spring, Mississippi.
James Deward “Tootie” Chambless, a student at LWMA from 1967-1970, still calls Fort Deposit, Alabama, home, but is currently working with a movie producer on the West Coast.
Dustin W. Deavers, Class of 1988, lives in Millbrook, Alabama.
Desmond Toussaint Richardson graduated in 2007. He currently is enrolled as culinary arts major at Jefferson State College in Birmingham.
Jose Antonio Menendez, Class of 1982, graduated as a Cadet Captain and returned to his native homeland of El Salvador. He recently completed a five-year assignment with a multinational company and was stationed in Guatemala. He and his wife of 18 years have two sons: one just graduated from high school in El Salvador and the other son is in the 7th grade. He would like to receive information about Cadet Wanda Gail Williams, a class mate, and Sergeant Virgil Kass, a military instructor at Lyman Ward in 1981-82.
Gordon Scott Roberts who attended LWMA from 1983-86, recently expressed his appreciation to all those who have kept the Academy open.
Christopher Kerry Veach, Class of 2003, is serving on active duty with the U. S. Air Force as a fireman. He is now stationed at Eglin AFB, FL, and has received orders to be transferred to Honduras. At LWMA, he was a running back on the football team and a member of the wrestling team
Theo Harris Peddy, Class of 1967, lives with his wife in Leesburg, Georgia. He has three grown daughters and four granddaughters. He works as a medical technologist for the Georgia State Department of Health as well as in a local hospital. He feels blessed and thankful for the many fond memories of LWMA.
Frank Xavier Brennan attended LWMA in 1979-1980. He now lives with his wife in San Clemente, California, where he works as a fishing boat captain in Southern California. He and his brother, Tim Brennan, attended LWMA at the same time. Both Frank and Tim were on the awesome JV Football Team.
Michael D. Evans, who attended LWMA in 1984-1986, now lives in Paducah, Kentucky.
Bruce Taylor attended LWMA in 1958-1959. He now lives in retirement in Woodland Park, Colorado. After LWMA, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a U. S. Air Force commission. He served in the USAF from 1965-1972 with the final commission as a captain. He worked as a contract administrator in the computer and defense aerospace industry, retiring from Lockheed-Martin in 1994. He also retired from the U. S. Federal Civil Service in 2005.
Matthew James Russell attended LWMA beginning in 1989 and graduated with the Class of 1994. After graduating, he served for years in the U. S. Army where he met his wife Monika. Afterward he spent six and a half years in law enforcement in LaGrange, Georgia, specializing in narcotics as a K-9 handler. He now lives in Satellite Beach, Florida, and works at the Kennedy Space Center in communications for the shuttle program. He stays in touch with classmates, Chris “Country” Moore, Curtis Tilley, and Jason Kelly.
Allen Adams Westbrook, who attended LWMA from 1965-1969, is recovering from a liver/kidney transplant. He and his wife, whom he married in 1980, live in Sanford, North Carolina, and they are enjoying their first grandchild born in November, 2007
Gary Marshall Kinney, II, graduated in 1988. He lives in Dothan and works as a corporate yacht captain for Diamond Services Corp. He holds a 1600 ton captains license.
Ian McKenna, Class of 1965, lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Peter Lawson Foote attended LWMA from 1992-1997. He is now stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he serves in the Airborne of the U. S. Army. He claims that his years at LWMA were the most impressionable years of his life. “I was taught values I don’t believe I would have been taught anywhere else to that magnitude: loyalty, integrity, leadership, honor, and pride,” he writes.
Jaime Casas Rodriguez attended LWMA for one year in 1979-1980. He now lives in North Hollywood, California.
Wade Alan Angelloz, Class of 1981, lives in Denham Sprin gs, Louisiana, with his wife of 15 years, Carol. They have one daughter and two sons. Immediately after he graduated, he went to work off shore with Mobil Oil for fifteen years. He now works for John H. Carter Co. as A I & E consultant for other offshore oil companies. When he is not at work offshore, Wade enjoys spending time with his family in the woods, fishing, and watching his sons play ball.
Johnny Alan “Rip” Johnston, who graduated in 1974, lives in Cullman where he has been working in the golf course business for the past 11 years. Now he is working at Chesley Oaks Golf Club in Cullman.
Corey Asher King, graduated in 2004, and lives in Denver, Colorado. He is finishing up a bachelor’s degree in culinary nutrition from Johnson & Wales University. He also has an associate’s degree in culinary arts. After receiving his bachelor’s, he plans to work in the field of product development of foods.
Randall Geiger Bishop, graduated in 1991. He now lives in Montgomery, Alabama.
Stephen Michael Wyatt, Class of 1986, works in a federal prison near Brooklet, Georgia.
Enrique Juan Signoret, Class of 1978, lives in Guatemala City, Guatemala, with his wife. He worked for many years with his family in their textile mill in Guatemala. He now is the owner of sewing plants which export clothing to the United States. He plans to retire within a year and travel on his sailboat. He and his wife are considering sending his wife’s youngest son to LWMA in the fall of 2008.
Scottie Derrell Chamblee, Class of 1991, lives in Bessemer, Alabama.
John Joseph Hanes, Class of 1990, received his B.A. degree in History and English from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1994. He completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1998. He has pledged his support behind all of Colonel Jenrette’s efforts to revitalize the financial stability and future progress of LWMA.
John Haney Taylor, Class of 1992, lives in Tallahassee, Florida.
Roger Alan Crow, Class of 1996, now lives in Yuma, Arizona.
James Edward Jackson attended LWMA from 1977-80. He now lives with his wife Lisa in Warner Robins Georgia. After a stint in the U. S. Navy and receiving a B.S. degree from Georgia Southwestern State University, he has become a computer systems engineer with Lockheed Martin Corp at Robins AFB in Georgia.
Hunter Barrett Smart, Class of 2000, lives in Phenix City, Alabama. He attended Marion Military Institute and earned a commission as a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army. He finished his degree in criminal justice at Troy University, graduating in 2003 summa cum laude. In March, 2007, he ended his Army commitment as a Ranger with the 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, and plans to attend Jones Law School in Montgomery in the fall of 2008.
Scottie Beck Mangram, Class of 1987, is in private business in his family home in Waverly, Alabama.
Edward Blake McCool attended LWMA in 1985-86. He now lives in Roanoke, Alabama.
Philip C. Clasen, Class of 1998, lives in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Alumni Association of SII/LWMA extends to Weldon Howard “Bucky” Heard, Class of 1983, and to his wife AJ and their young daughter Cydney Reese, our heartfelt sympathy on the untimely passing of their infant twin daughters in mid-February, 2008, in Branson, Missouri. Whitley Rose Heard and Willow Wynelle Heard were laid to rest in Branson. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bucky, AJ, and Cydney Reese.
